Stephenie Rodriguez, founder of WanderSafe - Travel Safer and JOZU app, together with with Ukhanyo Foundation NPO, visited the Learning centre at PHILIPPI VILLAGE. Stephenie is founder of WanderSafe - Travel Safer and JOZU apps which are designed to keep women safe, report abuse, and help emergency contacts know their location. Stephanie shared her powerful story of when she lost both her feet during a trip to Africa after a mosquito bite gave her cerebral malaria. Three hundred and twenty-eight days in hospital, 33 operations, 22 months in a wheelchair, and before Stephenie Rodriguez could walk, she had to hand over her lifeless feet in exchange for a semi-robotic existence. She now does TED talks and is a motivational speaker, sharing her story.
